Most people recognise the cross as a Christian symbol, but often do not ask why this instrument of execution was chosen to represent the Christian faith. The Bible tells us that by Christ’s death on the cross, Jesus disarmed and triumphed over the powers opposed to God (Colossians 2: 15).
